Balm have good ideas and dare to use melodies and instruments for them. The drums stumble charmingly in some songs, there is piano, there is 90s guitars – it all sounds a lot, but the remarkable vocals manage to hold everything together in a haunting but light-footed way. It’s like a melancholy stroll, more on a summery field that has been harvested than through a city.
